About the Assembly
Human dignity, peace, common good
The meeting will be held in plenary format, allowing more time to develop the three main topics and ensure everyone's interaction on all subjects. Each of these three areas of engagement will be prepared by two geographical platforms, which will each hold half-day of presentations and discussions.
The first panel on human dignity will be organized and moderated by the Rome and New York platforms. A brief introduction and a brief presentation of the platforms' collaborative activities will be followed by a more in-depth discussion of four main topics. The first focus will be on the promotion of human rights and dignity, international solidarity, and education for human dignity; the second focus will be on access to health care, maternal care, and key innovations ; the third focus will be on social and economic empowerment, including the right to dignified work, economic strengthening of programs, and sustainable economic models ; and the fourth focus will be on ethical dilemmas and the role of faith in advocacy . The brief presentations will be followed by one hour of plenary discussion.
The second panel on peace will be organized and moderated by the Paris and Strasbourg platforms. A brief introduction and presentation of the platforms' collaborative activities will be followed by a more in-depth examination of current peace challenges and the organizations' practices and positions in this area. At least one hour of interaction with participants in plenary is planned.
The third panel on the common good will be organized by the Geneva and Brussels platforms. After a brief introduction to the essence of this important topic in the Church's social doctrine, the panel will focus on various aspects, including the economy, development, solidarity and subsidiarity, family and demography, economic, social and cultural rights, human rights and migration . Again, at least one hour will be devoted to discussion on the various topics in plenary.
